“Living in a Modern Way: California Design 1930-1965,” at LACMA

This weekend is the full-scale launch of Pacific Standard Time, with exhibitions opening at more than 60 locations all around Southern California, including LACMA, the Getty, the Hammer, MoCA, and many more. You can get the full scoop on all of the participating institutions and exhibitions at the Pacific Standard Time website.
I went to see the California Design show at LACMA on Friday afternoon and was blown away by how great the whole exhibition is. I loved it all and will be back soon to watch all the video pieces and carefully view all of it from top to bottom. I was so excited I could not even concentrate and it was a quick initial visit. A full-scale replica of the Eames House living room is a key component of the exhibition – check out this time release video of the move from the Pallisades to the LACMA installation.
