I love architecture. It is one of my great interests and passions. I do not really know a lot about Le Corbusier but my brother who is an architect loves his work and my friend Mark always references Corbusier so when I recently traveled to Paris Mark suggested I go visit Maison La Roche and his studio apartment which are both available on Saturdays to go view. They are both run by the Fondation Le Corbusier more information here I was completely amazed at both the house and his former apartments from 1923 and 1931 respectively that I came away with a new appreciation oh his work and influence on modernism and an interest to visit as many more of his buildings and works as I can. I also want to get every book of his work and read his biography. A great space or building can produce for me a spiritual or some would say a religious experience – The Maison La Roche did that for me. From the angles, to the spaces, to windows and the light to the colors, to the amazing built ins by Charlotte Perriand in both places it inspired me and moved me.
