Starting January 30th, 2025, Fotografiska Berlin will host Frank Ockenfels 3: Introspection, an exhibition that invites viewers to explore creativity and self-expression through Ockenfels’ distinctive artistic lens.
At the heart of the exhibit is Ockenfels’ journal, a deeply personal practice that began as a way to manage anxiety and has become central to his creative process. Through a blend of photography, collage, drawing, and journaling, he creates layered works that offer a window into his inner world.
While Frank is widely celebrated for his professional portraits of cultural icons like Angelina Jolie, David Lynch, Nirvana, and David Bowie, this exhibition shifts the focus to his introspective, experimental works that break convention and inspire creative exploration.
As Ockenfels shares, “My favorite thing that ever happens is when people tell me, ‘I’m not sure I even like your work – but it inspired me to get a journal and start doing something.’”
Visit Fotografiska Berlin to experience Ockenfels’ unique approach to art and find inspiration to embark on your own journey of self-expression.
