A Cougar Ready For His Close Up – December 2013 National Geographic Magazine photography by Steve Winter

For over a year photographer Steve Winter maintained automatic cameras in the hills of Griffith Park to capture images of the elusive P22, the “ghost cat” that is the area’s only known cougar. Winter got the shots, along with others of species that travel the same paths.
