We’re thrilled to share the announcement of Collaboration, the highly anticipated new book from photographer Frank Ockenfels 3. This striking release offers an intimate, decades-spanning look at Ockenfels’ creative partnership with the one and only David Bowie.
Throughout 16 photo sessions between 1991 and 2006, Ockenfels had rare access to the music legend—capturing him in both iconic portraits and quieter, more candid moments. This collection features many never-before-seen images, documenting Bowie’s transformation over the years and his lasting impact on culture, music, and fashion.
More than just a series of photographs, Collaboration is a deeply personal project, reflecting the friendship and mutual artistic respect between Bowie and Ockenfels. With accompanying text by Frank and a foreword by music journalist Joe Levy, the book reveals the creative trust that defined their relationship and gives us a deeper understanding of Bowie—not just as a performer, but as a person.
