At the behest of Creative Time Kara E. Walker has confected: Kara Walker – A Subtlety

If you are in NYC this summer you must go see Creative Time’s newest public art installation, Kara Walker, A Subtlety on view till July 6th.

” This is the the first large-scale public project by the internationally renowned Kara Walker, one of the most important artists of our era. Sited in the sprawling industrial relics of Brooklyn’s legendary Domino Sugar Factory, Walker’s physically and conceptually expansive work will respond to both the building and its history, exploring a radical range of subject matter and marking a major departure from her practice to date. ”

Displayed in the famous Domino Sugar Factory in Williamsburg which will soon be demolished it is one of the most amazing art installations I have ever seen and the building is amazing, a long historical building on the East River which will soon be integrated but mostly torn down as part of a new housing development.

You may feel like you have seen a lot of images of this on Instagram already and or in the press but nothing is like the experience of walking into this space and seeing this structure and these incredible pieces of art. And they are already changing, melting and feeling the effects of the space which makes it even more interesting.
