BLAST FROM THE PAST

Looking back at Perry Ogden’s very first Pony Kids exhibition held in Smithfield Market, Dublin in 1997!

These seminal images of Perry’s went on to be exhibited widely (beyond the walls of the market where they were photographed) in galleries and museums as well as published in not only a book but in numerous publications.

They live on as a visual touchstone for a time and place and culture that no longer exists in Dublin.

Three of the Pony Kids prints were supposed to be shown in the Irish horse exhibition at The National Gallery of Ireland this year but this was cancelled due to Covid-19.  However, The National Gallery  has held a virtual opening of the show and can be seen by visiting their website here and clicking on “Virtual Tour”.  Enjoy!
