Rising movie director Cooper Raiff was photographed by Chantal Anderson for a story in the New York Times. The 25-year-old writer, director, and actor is making a splash in Hollywood with his two personal feature films garnering critical and industry notice. His second film “Cha Cha Real Smooth,” won the audience award at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and was bought for $15 million by Apple.
Cooper, on his future as a director, said, “When ‘Cha Cha’ did well, the first feeling that I had was relief — I’m going to be able to make another movie,” he recalled. “That feels like the success that I do get something out of, because I know that for the next, however long, I’m going to feel comfortable doing what I love to do.”
