Dewey has a long history with this hotel and when Gabe Doppelt approached him about an idea to make a deck of playing cards ( Inspired by a set Leona Helmsley did for her hotel in NY in the 1970’s ) with pictures he would shoot around the hotel ( to give out to their frequent and best guests ) he jumped right on it.
What was produced over a two day shoot was a wonderful set of images that became the cards but also inspired them to involve Dewey’s friend Donald Robertson AKA Donald Drawbertson so he added some of his beautiful illustrations to the mix and now there is talk of a book.
See a small selection above of these fun images from the cards starring Dimitri the maitre de extraordinare from the restaurant as well as some furry guests and the staff. Destined to be a collectors item for sure!
