This job has lots of stages and pieces! First Frank was in NYC and thought to shoot the neighborhood of the play and movie In The Heights, which is set in Washington Heights as a background plate. He had proposed the idea to build a cover in a David Hockney style.
Then he shot the portraits of Jon live in LA at the Variety studio and then shot Lin Manuel remotely from LA as he was in NY and then created a collage which became the cover you see as well as the inside portraits!
Creative problem solving!
