HELLO KITTY at the Japanese Museum and KITTY CON at MOCA this weekend!

Los Angeles has been invaded by one of my favorite friends Hello Kitty. And always please remember she is a girl – not a cat – and she is never depicted on all fours!!!

The Japanese Museum just opened the first museum show ever dedicated to HELLO KITTY that is on till April 26th next year but you must buy tickets in advance.

For more information go to the museum site here

The LA Times wrote about the show here

As I am in NY I am sad to say that I will miss the KITTY CON this weekend at the MOCA Geffen Contemporary ( in Japantown and beside the Japanese Museum ) where all her fans and friends will celebrate Hello Kitty’s 40th Anniversary at the first ever official Hello Kitty Convention in the world!

From the Sanrio site:
Hello Kitty Con 2014 is a global gathering of fans and friends to celebrate all things Hello Kitty.
Hello Kitty Con 2014 will offer interactive experiences and events for fans and friends of all ages, including activities, art, exhibits, exclusives, workshops, lectures, panels, sneak peeks, tattoos, food, fun, and many more surprises!Join Hello Kitty and your friends at Hello Kitty Con 2014. As Hello Kitty always says, “You can never have too many friends!”

And if that is not enough – it is probably too late to book it this weekend I would say with all the fans expected to come to LA – The Line Hotel ( the official hotel of the convention ) in Koreatown has decorated a room especially for and in honor of Hello Kitty. And a VIP lounge has also been redecorated for the occasion!

Wishing I was in LA this weekend for the PINK festivities! HELLO KITTY is 40!
