The details of the incredibly rare, strange, and beautiful plants that live at The Tropics in Los Angeles are simply breathtaking. The Ingalls had the opportunity to spend time with these unusual plants for Martha Stewert Magazine earlier this year.
The 50-year-old store boasts a sprawling 20,000 square feet with thousands of trees and succulents personally planted by the shopkeepers. Some are situated in planters weighing eight tons others are multi-year projects with strategically placed and timed additions. Needless to say, The Tropics is a plant wonderland.
Check out more images captured by The Ingalls and learn more about this magical store and the keeper of these remarkable plants in Martha Stewart’s Magazine.
These images and this story are from one of the very last print additions of this seminal magazine that we will miss dearly.
