Perry Ogden Had a Magazine called LIPSTICK

Many moons ago Perry was a student at Eton College which is a very famous independent boys boarding school located in Eton, Berkshire, England which was founded in 1440 by King Henry VI as “The King’s College of Our Lady of Eton besides Wyndsor ” and educates boys aged 13 to 18 years.

Whilst at school Perry and some friends decided to make a magazine – that is the first cover shown above – please note with a woman on the cover for a boys school! And no one really remembers exactly how they did it but the magazine is legendary in many circles and definitely propelled Perry into the publishing and photography world at record speed.

Perry was recently interviewed by Radio Wolfgang about the magazine and the stories of going to NYC – his first trip there ever – to photograph Andy Warhol and Diana Vreeland as well as his Mother and Aunt’s influences make this interview well worth a listen – check it out here
