Roger Mayne and Bunny Yeager RIP

Two great photographers have passed. They could not be more different but they both were highly influential to many and two of my favorites.

It seems very strange to put them together but Bunny’s images were referenced and reproduced countless times and Roger’s street series of London in the mid to late 1950’s – and in particular Southam street near Paddington Station, quietly influenced a whole generation of documentary street photography.

I am proud to own two of his prints and thankful to Perry Ogden for introducing me to his work many years ago.

Bunny’s work was is an inspiration to many fashion photographers and her collaboration with Bettie Paige is legendary.

Please see Bunny’s NY Times obituary here

And her official website here

And for Roger the obituary from PDN here

And a great piece from The Guardian in the UK here

Seen above two of Roger’s images from the Southam Street series and one of Bunny’s images of Bettie and a self portrait from 1960. Please look at both of these artists works if you are not familiar with them.

Have a great weekend!
