SAM JONES INTERVIEW FOR SLASH FILM FOR HIS DOCUMENTARY TONY HAWK: UNTIL THE WHEELS FALL OFF

Sam Jones spoke with Ethan Anderton of Slash Film in an insightful interview on his relationship with Tony Hawk, his love for skateboarding, creativity, and his creative process.

He said in the interview, when asked about his connection to skateboarding,
“I loved it. It was my life. It was where I found my self-confidence in my community. It’s how I learned to be sort of an individualist or a free thinker. I sort of credit skateboarding for me becoming a creative person.”

Sam goes in-depth on the work that went into making this film beyond interviews and speaks on how his storytelling style is “Discovery-Based,” meaning he had to track down every piece of found footage like the first contest where he skates against Duane Peters and the undeveloped film of the skateboarder that shot Mike McGill’s first McTwist.
