The latest collaboration between Frank Ockenfels 3 and Santigold is the fantastic new music video for her song “Shake.”
“Shake” follows the release of “High Priestess,” “Nothing,” and “Ain’t Ready” from Spirituals. Spirituals is the first Santigold album released on her label, Little Jerk Records.
“Shake” is one of Santigold’s most daring visual statements. She says, “For this piece, I was inspired by the images of the civil rights protesters being pounded with high-pressure water hoses, turned on them by the authorities, during their peaceful protests. This video is an homage to them, in which I try to power through singing this song while enduring the pain of a high-pressure water hose.”
