Last week, Los Angeles was devastated by wildfires that tore through our city, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. These fires destroyed homes, uprooted lives, and shattered communities overnight. Among those affected were not only my own family—my home and my grandparents’ home were lost—but also one of our cherished artists here at Eye Forward.
In times like these, words may feel inadequate, but we want to express our deepest sympathies and unwavering solidarity with all those impacted by this tragedy. The strength of our community lies in our ability to come together, support one another, and rebuild.
To those navigating the road to recovery, we’ve compiled a list of resources to help during this difficult time:
Available Resources for Fire Victims:
- American Red Cross Disaster Relief – Shelters, emergency assistance, and recovery support.
- Los Angeles County Fire Recovery – Local information on recovery programs and financial assistance.
- California Department of Insurance – Guidance on filing insurance claims and accessing policyholder rights.
- FEMA Disaster Assistance – Federal aid for those in declared disaster areas.
- 211 LA is partnering with Airbnb to offer free temporary shelter for people displaced from their homes by fire.
