In 1983 Mary Ellen met Tiny, a 13-year-old girl working as a prostitute on the streets of Seattle. Mary Ellen photographed her for Life Magazine and also her book “Streetwise.” Tiny was also the star of her husband Martin Bell’s documentary “Streetwise.” They continued to photograph and film her and her family for over 30 years.
This film which premiered at the Seattle Film Festival will hopefully go into distribution soon so we can all see it.

I am sure it will be amazing. And an amazing tribute to Mary Ellen as a photographer and her commitment to her long term projects, and also to see a film by Martin Bell a fantastic director.
